MY CHRISTMAS GIFT
This has been a year of blessings with the work in West Virginia; many hours have been spent in preparing our building to minister to the people of Mercer County.
Much of our time was spent in the Matoaka area until God opened the door for our building next door in Lashmeet. We are not only able to help the people of Matoaka but to other communities as well. We opened our doors in October for the first time ministering to 53 families.
Last week was a very special time for the children in Lashmeet Matoaka School as Laces 4 Love provided shoes and socks to all the students. A special thank you to them for the willingness to come and provide such needed gifts to the children.
On Saturday we were able to minister to 180 people who came through the doors of the mission. In our clothes closet the people were given the opportunity to get clothes, coats, shoes, and many other items of need.
This was an exciting time for those who made the trip and labored to make this day possible.
The children were given a bag with stocking hats, gloves, socks, candy and toys. We also provided 3 bicycles and a scooter to four children who would not have had them without our providing. Each adult was given a hygiene packet with toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, towel and wash cloth, plus everyone received a bag with fruit.
A special thank you to many of you who provided the means for us to accomplish this. Without your support we could not carry on the ministry that God has called us to. We look forward to working together this coming year as we reach out to the people of Mercer County, West Virginia.
This reminds me of what Christmas is really all about, God giving us His Son, the greatest gift possible. Truly, Jesus is the reason for the season. It’s not about us, it’s all about Him.
It’s because of my love for Him that led me to West Virginia to help those who would not have unless someone goes. The smiles, the thank yous from those who came through was my Christmas gift.
Yes, you were a very special part of this Christmas and we are so grateful. And yes we continue to need not only your prayers but you financial support as well. The Shepherd’s Hands is a 501c IRS tax exempt organization and all your gifts are tax deductable.
Marianne and I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
