Marianne and I traveled to WV this past weekend along with Chris Pugh, Marty Havird, and his son Morgan from the West Creek Baptist Church in Batesburg, SC. We arrived at our first mission opportunity at the Good News Mission in Meadow Bridge. Rebecca and her helpers were glad to see the food that we brought. The mission was broken into in September and we were able to provide them with a small amount of food as our supplies were low.
From there we traveled to the Danese Christian School to share with them some needed school supplies. The school was closed so we left them with folks at the after school program. We then went a short distance to Donna's Haven to deliver a mattress, springs and winter clothes. It was so good to see Donna, Curt and Jennifer. Donna was low in the amount of clothes so hopefully we can get back to her very soon.
After checking in the Motel in Summersville we traveled to Little Birch Baptist Church in Little Birch to enjoy their monthly covered dish dinner. It was a great time of fellowship with our friends there. We were also entertained after the meal by a local Blue Grass band.
Saturday morning we traveled back to Little Birch to meet with a lady that needed some work on her trailer. Upon taking a look at the water damage we informed her that the job was too big for our teams from South Carolina. I informed her that she would be better off buying another trailer than trying to repair that one, because the whole floor would have to be replaced.
We assisted with the distribution of the food at the food pantry, probably the most people that I have seen in previous visits. We also gave them a supply of winter coats and other clothing. Marianne gave out shampoo and other items as the people came through the line. She gave out of everything but soap due to the large amount of people. Again as always the number one request was shampoo.
Please continue to pray for us and the ministry. We praise God for allowing us to reach out to so many people. We are so thankful to everyone for your faithful support.
