Matoaka, WV

What a wonderful time is how I describe our last two trips to WV. On December 2, eight of us traveled to Matoaka for the next day clothes giveaway. We were met by the Chief of Police who let us in the town building to set up. We completed setting up and traveled back to Princeton for a nights rest at the motel.

Saturday morning folks were lining up for the 10 AM opening so we opened the doors early and allowed them to get their clothes. Each person had the opportunity to get clothes, coats, shoes and one toy per child, each family also received a health packet with towel, wash cloth, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush . When the day was over we had provided over 150 people with the items they needed.

We were all excited that God had allowed us to be providers for the people of Matoaka. The Mayor wanted to know if we would be back next month. We would very much like to be able to go back and provide more clothes but also blankets for the people.

We traveled back to WV December 16 th, first traveling to Mountain Market Place Mission dropping off blankets, clothes, and shoes. Was good to see Gary and Lily again and listen to how God is providing for the mission. Back to the motel for a good nights rest.

Next morning we traveled to Little Birch Baptist Church for the monthly food distribution. We had prepared bags with toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, shampoo as well as candy for each who signed in. Two Hundred families received a very large amount of food for the holidays. What a joy to be able to labor once again even in the cold weather.

We traveled back to Princeton for the night in order to attend The Bridge Baptist Church in Matoaka on Sunday morning. Bright and early Sunday morning we went to Wal-Mart to get fruit and candy to prepared bags for the children at the church. We added other items to the bags and each person received a bag containing apple, orange, raisins, candy, toothpaste and toothbrush. We had prepared 30 bags with 6 spare and the only ones left out was pastor Tom and his wife Teresa.

God has surely blessed our ministry with so many faithful supporters who provide for every need of the ministry. We thank you for your faithfulness to His ministry.
