On The Road Again

We just returned from visiting those we are assisting in West Virginia, what a blessing to be able to minister with Rick Canfield at Lighthouse Baptist Mission in Ivydale, WV. We carried some additional clothes and Migrant Packets from the Ridge Baptist Association. Marianne set up a table and gave out packets as the folks exited the building; they were so excited to get them. I assisted by giving out cases of frozen food from an overturned truck the night before on I-79 about 7 miles from the mission. Rick with his volunteers were out at 4 AM in the morning with ten pickups to gather it to give out on Thursday. Later in the afternoon we were able to stop by and visit with Gary and Lily Melton at Mountain Marketplace Mission.

Friday we went to Gray Lumber Company in Beckley to check on the building being built for Donna’s Haven in Danese. It should be ready in the later part of June. I might add that we have received over Three Thousand Dollars of the needed Fifty Five Hundred Dollars. To this we praise the Lord.

Saturday we traveled over to Little Birch, WV to the Little Birch Baptist Church as this was their day to distributate food and clothing. Here again B. B. and Jane Marshall put us to work helping in the food pantry. What a wonderful time we had ministering to the folks there.

Sunday we visited with the folks at Calvary Baptist Church in Meadow Bridge, WV, where we filled in for six weeks in September and October. How great it was to see them and their new pastor Zeb Volbe. Two people were baptized that morning and several members could not remember how long it had been since they had a baptismal service. Praise God for the work that brother Zeb in doing there.

Hopefully this summer I will be able to carry a few folks up to witness the work we are involved in West Virginia. But of course we would not be able to do this if it wasn’t for those faithful here in South Carolina that give to support this ministry.

We arrived home to discover water on the floor from a defrosted refrigerator that had gone out from a surge or lightening. After working late to get it in another freezer and refrigerator we were able to save most of the food. And praise the Lord we were able to get it repaired the next day instead of having to purchase a new one.

God is so good, yes all the time.
